What you’ll do:
The VEVA Engineer will be responsible to implement VEVA projects that create value, eliminate waste, and reduce cost. The ideal candidate will drive reductions through new product designs, serial product enhancements, process improvements, and cost reduction activities. The candidate must be a self-directed, results oriented professional that has a take charge attitude for delivering results while meeting project deadlines. Tasks: Support Value Engineering/Value Analysis (VEVA) efforts for the North America Airbag VEVA Group Follow the Value Methodology in leading workshops, idea generation, validation, and implementation Create business cases to determine the benefits of each project Perform change point analysis, validation testing, teardown inspection, and generate test reports Coordinate between different groups within Autoliv (Engineering, Development, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Product Family Teams, Product Lines, etc.) Generate and present savings reports for different audiences within Autoliv Compile and maintain a list of savings ideas Be familiar with validation specifications, both customer and internal Track engineering hours and validation costs of individual projects Manage serial life changes as a Change Leader Coordinate changes with teams in the US, Mexico, and Canada Implement VEVA ideas from other divisions Attend monthly global calls outside of regular working hours Flexible working hours - depending on meeting times
What is required:
• Education: BS Mechanical Engineering
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical and detail-oriented Results-oriented with the ability to support cross-functional local and global teams Product lifecycle management,
• MS Office, project timing,
•CAD Ability to work with hand tools to disassemble and inspect test parts
• English language skills
