Mechatronics Validation Engineer

What you’ll do:

The selected candidate will be working with the steering wheels with integrated Electronics and Mechatronics content. The candidate will interface with the centralized Electronics & Mechatronics (AEM) group as well as the centralized Test group. The primary job function is Product Validation Testing. This will include direct responsibility for successful product validation for product functions such as switches, capacitive touch sensing, heating, lighting, wiring harnesses, ECU’s and other system, subsystems and components. This will require collaboration with all CFT team members some interface with OEM’s, internal supporting groups, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers.

What is required:

• Project based validation of mechatronics systems including embedded electronics controls. Bilingual (Spanish - English) 

• Interaction and interfacing with: o Automotive OEM validation departments o System engineering disciplines. o Electronics and mechanical design disciplines. o Overall project management disciplines. • Experience with automotive diagnostic protocol communication tools (CAN, LIN, etc.) 

• Diagnosing test related breakdowns related to both test process as well a product shortcoming. • Experience with launching product at a production location, either at the customer or internally Preferred Qualifications: 

• Ability to collaborate with product design development & launch in accord with internal development processes & standards

• Ability to develop strong supplier technical relationships working with the purchasing and quality departments and technical disciplines 

• Ability to develop strong manufacturing relationships working with the industrial engineering and operation departments and technical disciplines 

• Ability to collaborate within a global engineering organization for the development & production implementation of new functions and designs 

• Experience in Steering Wheel or similar “electrified” interior products
