Prototyping Engineer

In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing, and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes setup, programming, testing, and implementation of computer control systems used for production automation and industrial equipment design.
Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:
Manage PLC program traceability, updates, and modifications for retrofitted equipment, ensuring system reliability, documentation accuracy, and compliance with engineering standards.
Lead root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions to resolve chronic machine issues, improve equipment performance, and prevent recurrence.
Support manufacturing and process engineering initiatives by improving equipment robustness, implementing Yokoten best practices, documenting lessons learned, and benchmarking with regional and global facilities.
Coach and develop maintenance technicians on new technologies, control systems, and assembly equipment functions, while tracking performance and supporting individual development plans.
Drive operational and financial improvements by reducing maintenance-related costs, supporting budget objectives, and applying a structured, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
If you have/are:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Core Tools, GD&T, problem-solving methodologies, and quality systems such as IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Proven experience in process engineering, maintenance, automation, or manufacturing engineering roles, with prior supervisory or technical team leadership experience preferred.
Advanced expertise in industrial automation, including PLC and HMI programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Omron), servomotors, vision systems, laser marking systems, and electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Ability to develop PLC and HMI programs from scratch, with experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment, vision inspection systems, and industrial sewing technologies (Juki and Brother machines) considered a strong advantage.
