Advanced Industrial Engineer
Autoliv's primary goal is to Save More Lives. Our products never get a second chance. This is why we can never compromise on quality. We are working to increase vehicle safety by developing seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels and you can be part of our team as Advanced Industrial Engineer.
In this role you will be responsible for supporting the local production site by providing technical expertise and engineering guidance for manufactured products throughout their lifecycle. This includes interpreting engineering drawings and customer specifications, assessing technical, legal, safety, and business risks, developing and validating test methods and test plans, and leading problem-solving and root cause analysis activities. You will coordinate the validation and implementation of engineering changes, new products, and component introductions for all customers, ensuring compliance with APQP requirements, customer-specific methodologies, and internal quality standards. The role requires maintaining accurate technical documentation, managing updates within customer web portals, and ensuring effective communication between the production site and global technical centers. Additionally, you will lead and support project management activities, driving implementation plans, cross-functional alignment, and successful execution of product and process changes from concept through production launch.
Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:
Lead and coordinate the implementation of application engineering changes at the production site, working closely with Core Engineering, Launch Engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution and alignment with business objectives.
Manage the engineering change process, including ECR assessments, AS007 checklist activities, CCB presentations, implementation planning, documentation updates, and lessons learned to ensure controlled and timely product changes.
Execute and support product validation activities, including line trials, PSOs, PV builds, and production readiness assessments for new products, components, and engineering modifications.
Maintain product configuration integrity by updating and auditing BOMs across manufacturing and engineering systems (E-BOM, M-BOM, JDE, and Man-IT), ensuring accuracy and traceability throughout the production process.
Provide technical leadership by interpreting customer and Autoliv specifications, maintaining master part number databases, supporting customer visits and audits, and ensuring compliance with product, testing, and quality requirements.
If you have/are:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in product launches, engineering projects, or application engineering within the automotive industry.
Strong knowledge of Automotive Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC, with experience supporting engineering changes and new product introductions.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and apply structured problem-solving methodologies to technical and operational challenges.
Proficiency in CAD systems, engineering drawings, and customer web portals, with excellent technical reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills for customers, suppliers, and senior leadership.
We will be more than glad to chat with you about your experience and your career goals.
In our international work setting, you will find a range of opportunities that are designed to enhance your career and personal development. Including new and different perspectives is part of what ensures the team’s success. We are committed to develop people’s skills, knowledge and creative potential.
